Job summary

The State of Victoria in Horsham is seeking an Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager for an ongoing full-time role. You will deliver culturally informed case management to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients, focusing on behaviour change and rehabilitation.

The role emphasizes building partnerships with Aboriginal organisations, attending Koori Court where needed, and contributing to safer, stronger communities. A VPS-based salary and generous entitlements are offered.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivering meaningful case management for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients, focused on behaviour change and completing correctional orders.
  • Creating tailored cultural support plans to meet the specific needs of Aboriginal clients.
  • Assessing risk factors and developing individualised case plans that support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
  • Providing expert advice to senior leaders and community-based teams on culturally safe and effective approaches to working with Aboriginal clients.
  • Building strong partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and support services to improve access to culturally appropriate resources.
  • Attending Koori Court to provide advice and support where needed.
About You

We're seeking someone who brings a deep understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, along with strong case management skills and a genuine passion for supporting others.

You'll have:

  • A proven ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.
  • Strong knowledge of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in the justice system.
  • Experience in applying evidence-based case management frameworks, especially with individuals with complex needs.
  • The ability to apply theory to practice—identifying risk, planning interventions, and supporting behaviour change.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
