Job summary

Commlec Services Pty Ltd. is seeking a motivated 4th Year Apprentice Electrician to complete their apprenticeship while building a long-term career on commercial, sports lighting and infrastructure projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

You will work with our Projects and Service teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of electrical work and a clear path to ongoing employment as an A Grade Electrician after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently completing the 4th year of your Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Strong electrical knowledge and up-to-date with trade schooling.
• Holds a current Victorian Driver Licence and White Card.
• Commitment to safety, learning mindset and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across a broad range of electrical work while completing the apprenticeship.
• Assist with sportsground and pathway lighting installations and maintenance.
• Work on commercial electrical installations and infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to underground electrical infrastructure and cable hauling.
• Support switchboard replacements, upgrades, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Participate in testing, fault finding and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with experienced A Grade Electricians and supervisors.

Job description

Due to continued growth, Commlec Services is looking for a motivated 4th Year Apprentice Electrician who wants to complete their apprenticeship while building a long-term career across commercial, sports lighting and infrastructure projects throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Commlec Services is a solutions-based Electrical and Communications Contractor based in Mount Waverley. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service across commercial, local government, recreation and infrastructure projects.

Our team specialises in sports and public lighting, electrical maintenance, infrastructure works and electrical upgrades.

About the Role

You’ll work alongside experienced A Grade Electricians across our Projects and Service & Maintenance teams, gaining exposure to a broad range of electrical work while completing the final stage of your apprenticeship.

Some of the work you could be involved in includes:

• Sportsground and pathway lighting installations and maintenance
• Commercial electrical installations
• Underground electrical infrastructure and cable hauling
• Switchboard replacements and upgrades
• LED and energy-efficiency upgrades
• Reactive and preventative electrical maintenance
• Testing, fault finding and commissioning

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is currently completing the 4th year of their Electrical Apprenticeship
• Has strong electrical knowledge and is up to date with trade schooling
• Holds a current Victorian Driver Licence
• Holds a Construction Induction White Card
• Has a strong commitment to safety and following WHS procedures
• Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Has good communication and teamwork skills
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, an AFP Police Check and Working with Children Check
• Working at Heights and EWP licences are advantageous
