Job summary

Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) is seeking a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Refrigeration Apprentice to join their Gladstone team. In partnership with Apprentices and Trainees Queensland, you will assist with installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, while developing fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Key duties include reading plans, using hand and power tools safely, and adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Currently completing a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration as a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice (essential)
• Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical (essential)
• Construction Induction White Card (desirable)
• Forklift Licence (desirable)
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
• Good understanding of basic Refrigeration principles and practices

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications
• Using hand and power tools safely and correctly
• Assisting with the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Assisting with fault finding, testing and diagnosing refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Following workplace health and safety procedures and relevant refrigeration and air conditioning standards
• Working effectively as part of a team while developing the ability to work independently
