Job summary

Premier Services Group Victoria is seeking a 2nd/3rd year Electrical Apprentice to join our Keysborough VIC team. This full-time position offers hands-on training under experienced tradespeople, with a clear path to becoming a qualified electrician.

You will be involved in fire detection and EWIS installations, commissioning and maintenance, gaining practical electrical skills across diverse projects while adhering to safety standards and site SWMS.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in the installation of fire detection and EWIS systems.
• A valid National and/or General Construction Industry induction card.
• Ability to work well in a team and/or autonomously.
• Sound knowledge of Fire detection & EWIS system safety standards.
• Ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting dry fire requirements of emergency and exit lighting, fire pump sets, fire detection and EWIS systems from in house design or by a third-party designer.
• Assessing and correcting system faults
• Installation, commissioning and servicing of existing and newly installed fire detection and EWIS systems
• Carrying out repairs to emergency and exit lighting, fire pump sets
• Inspection and testing of emergency and exit lighting
• Reporting any incidents, hazard observations, substandard conditions and practices or other safety & quality issues immediately to supervisor/manager
• Understanding and following all site-specific SWMS, SOPs and other safety documentation
• Performing a Take 5 risk assessment whenever applicable
• Participating in SWMS Review consultation process
• Other work tasks as required and/or delegated, in line with job role and the current EBA you are employed under
• Training and supervision of dry fire apprentices onsite

This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your electrical skills under the guidance of experienced tradespeople. As an apprentice in your second or third year, you will be progressing through your formal training whilst gaining practical, hands-on experience across a variety of electrical installations and maintenance projects. This role is fundamental to your journey towards becoming a qualified electrician, providing you with the technical knowledge and workplace experience necessary to succeed in this rewarding trade.

What you'll be doing
