Bundall Mechanical Repairs on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced 2IC / Senior Automotive Mechanic to join our busy workshop in Bundall. You will lead day-to-day operations while hands-on on the tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient workflow.

You\'ll coordinate jobs, communicate with customers about repairs and recommendations, and mentor juniors. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends and a genuine career progression path into leadership.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated 2IC / Senior Automotive Mechanic to join our busy mechanical workshop in Bundall on the Gold Coast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic who is ready to take on more responsibility and play an important role in the day‑to‑day running of the workshop.

Monday to Friday – NO WEEKENDS, offering a genuine opportunity for a great work‑life balance.

The Role

Working closely with the workshop owner, you will combine hands‑on mechanical work with helping coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of the workshop.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, repairs and vehicle diagnostics
• Brakes, clutches, suspension and general mechanical repairs
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Assisting with the daily coordination and workflow of the workshop
• Allocating and prioritising jobs where required
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard
• Checking vehicles and completed work
• Assisting with workshop organisation and efficiency
• Regularly communicating with customers regarding their vehicles, repairs and recommended work
• Providing professional and friendly customer service and explaining mechanical issues clearly to customers
• Maintaining a safe, clean and professional workshop environment
• Stepping in to assist with the running of the workshop when the owner is unavailable

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant Australian trade qualifications
• Solid experience as an automotive mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
• A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and use initiative

• The confidence to discuss repairs, diagnostics and recommendations with customers

Previous experience as a Senior Mechanic, Leading Hand or 2IC will be highly regarded.
