The Department of Home Affairs is offering the 2028 Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 10-month development track designed to launch your career in national security, migration, and community safety. You’ll rotate across diverse business areas and start as an APS4 with a pathway to APS5 upon successful completion.

You’ll receive structured learning, on-the-job coaching, mentors, and a clear route to long-term employment within the Australian Public Service.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen or will be by 22 March 2027.
• Have at least a Bachelor Degree by 31 December 2027.
• Can obtain Employment Suitability Clearance and onboarding check.
• Must obtain Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete three rotations across Home Affairs and/or Australian Border Force.
• Undertake structured learning and development with mentors.
• Build networks across the department and contribute to national priorities.
