Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Canberra Highways team. You will contribute across project stages—from concept to construction—and support design, project management and stakeholder engagement.

The program offers mentoring and career development in a global infrastructure leader. You should be in your final year or have completed a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, able to commence by February or July 2027, with full working rights for Australia or New Zealand.

Job Description

The team delivers a range of different projects working with funding agencies, national and local governments, highways authorities and private organisations. We are currently engaged in a variety of large to mega projects as well as smaller more intricate projects – all offering a broad spectrum of opportunities. Being multi-disciplinary projects, great opportunities to broaden horizons and gain holistic and all of project experience.

We are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Highways team in Canberra.

Qualifications

• Graduate Attributes: We’re seeking graduates with strong communication and teamwork skills, a proactive and adaptable mindset, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
• Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your final year or completed a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering or any related discipline.
• Graduate Year: You must have completed your studies and have graduated before starting the program.
• Commencement: You must be able to commence work by February 2027. We are open to mid-year finishers who are able to commence by July 2027.
• Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand before applying. We do accept candidates with student and graduate visas.
