Job summary

Northern Rivers Children's Services Ltd in Bangalow is hiring two permanent part-time OSHC Assistants / Relief Coordinators for Bangalow Public School OSHC. You will deliver an inclusive program, support safety and wellbeing, and build strong relationships with children, families and staff.

Hours are school terms 20–25 per week with up to 38 hours in Vacation Care, Monday to Friday. A current Working with Children Check, First Aid/CPR, and a National Police Check are required.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Working with Children Check and police checks.
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR and Child Protection.
• Willingness to complete Child Safe training and maintain records.

Position: 2 x Permanent Part-Time OSHC Assistants / Relief Coordinators (2IC/3IC)
Location: Bangalow Public School OSHC
Hours: School terms - 20 to 25 hours per week and up to 38 hours during Vacation Care.
Days: Monday to Friday

Northern Rivers Children’s Services (NRCS) is growing — and we’re thrilled to expand our Bangalow Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program! We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, caring, and creative 2 x Assistants / Relief Coordinators to join our vibrant team.

What You’ll Do

As part of our OSHC team, you’ll help deliver a high-quality, inclusive program that children look forward to every day. You’ll:

Create fun, age-appropriate experiences that spark imagination and confidence.

Ensure every child’s safety, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.

Build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.

Set up and pack away activities, keeping spaces tidy and welcoming.

Support coordination tasks and uphold NRCS and school policies.

Assist with record keeping and compliance in line with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the My Time Our Place framework.

Before School Care: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

After School Care 3:00 PM – 5:00PM (approximately)

Vacation Care: Up to 8 hours per day (preferred but not essential)

Total Contracted Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week

Pay Rate: $26.14 – $36.27 /hour (based on qualifications & experience)

Worker Retention Allowance: $3.92 – $5.44/hour

Flexibility: Occasional shifts at other NRCS services (Coordinator pay rates apply for responsible person duties).

You’re someone who brings energy, empathy, and initiative to every shift. You’ll have:

A current Working with Children Check

Experience working with or caring for children

First Aid, CPR and Child Protection certifications

National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)

Completed or willing to complete the Child Safe (Gekko) training

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments

A good level of fitness to join in active play and outdoor fun!

Basic computer skills and attention to detail

References from two relevant referees will be required.
