Job summary

TMJ Electrical in Oak Park, VIC is seeking a motivated 1st Year Electrical Apprentice to join our team on a full-time basis. Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians with installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
• Follow safe work practices and use PPE in line with standards.
• Prepare work areas, organise tools and materials, keep a clean, safe workplace.
• Read and interpret electrical plans, drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist with basic wiring tasks under supervision.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and testing with guidance.
• Maintain records of work completed and hours worked.
• Contribute to delivering quality work and customer service.

TMJ Electrical is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 1st Year Electrical Apprentice to join our team in Oak Park, VIC. This is a full-time apprenticeship position that offers an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the electrical trades. As a 1st Year Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical hands‑on experience whilst undertaking formal training. This role is fundamental to your development as an electrician and provides the foundation for a rewarding long‑term career in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and components
• Learning and following safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to electrical safety standards
• Preparing work areas, organising tools and materials, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace
• Learning to read and interpret electrical plans, drawings and technical documentation
• Assisting with cable laying, conduit bending, wire termination and basic electrical circuit work under supervision
• Performing basic troubleshooting and testing of electrical installations with guidance from experienced staff
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed and hours worked
• Contributing to the team's commitment to delivering quality work and excellent customer service
