Job summary

Cummins is seeking an undergraduate Mechanical, Mechatronics or Product Engineering student for a 13‑month full-time internship at the Scoresby office, commencing 27 January 2027. You will work with a team of engineers across multiple departments, building practical skills and applying theory to real-world product development.

You will create CAD models, develop concepts, and produce drawings while collaborating with procurement and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Product Engineering required.
• Penultimate/final year with 1–8 units left to complete by January 2027.
• Able to defer studies for 13 months and commit to full-time internship.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and develop design concepts within project specifications.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing release.
• Coordinate engineering change requests and support change management for new/existing products.
• Liaise with procurement, supply chain and cross-functional teams to support product development.
• Gain hands-on exposure to verification testing, data analysis and engineering reporting.
• Prepare and present findings for design reviews and projects.
