Job summary

Discover Nursing Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a friendly Disability Support Worker for 1:1 community access with a young gentleman. The role involves accompanying him to appointments, cafés, shops and local activities to foster independence and social participation.

The position is contractor-based (ABN/Sole Trader) and supported by a nurse-led organisation with flexible hours, transport reimbursement where applicable, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is required.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
• Current Police Check and First Aid/ CPR are required.
• Australian working rights and ABN are needed.
• Valid driver’s licence and insured vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend appointments with the participant.
• Visit cafés and share meals with the participant.
• Go shopping or run errands together.
• Visit parks and local attractions with the participant.
• Support recreational and leisure activities to promote participation.
• Encourage independence and confidence and provide companionship.
• Support the participant to achieve NDIs goals.
