Job summary

Discover Nursing Australia is seeking a friendly Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 community access support for a young gentleman in Queensland. This contractor role offers flexible shifts, transport reimbursement, and ongoing nurse-led coordination to help the participant attend appointments, visit cafes, shop, and engage in activities that interest him.

Your role focuses on encouraging independence, companionship, and social participation while ensuring safety and adherence to NDIA

Qualifications

• Active ABN (or willingness to obtain one).
• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for community access.

Responsibilities

• Attending appointments.
• Going shopping or running errands.
• Visiting parks and local attractions.
• Supporting recreational and leisure activities.
• Encouraging independence and confidence.
• Providing friendly companionship and conversation.
• Supporting the participant to achieve their NDIS goals.
