3VC is a European venture capital fund that invests in carefully selected startups with global ambition once they have achieved product‑market fit, typically at the series A stage. Our team is composed of former founders and operators who are driven by curiosity but grounded in discipline. We focus on quality over quantity and partner with only a handful of exceptional companies per year.

We offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Venture Capital through a 6‑month off‑cycle engagement. During this time, you’ll work closely with our senior investment team, gaining hands‑on exposure to sourcing, evaluating, and supporting startups across Europe. This experience is designed to give you a foundation for a future career in Venture Capital, launching your own startup, or joining an early‑stage company. There may be an opportunity to continue with us beyond the initial six months—either by staying in Vienna or relocating to one of the other hubs where 3VC is active.

Your responsibilities

As a Visiting Analyst you will be a part of our investment team. Your primary role will be to find and evaluate startups for investment by 3VC, as well as to support investment processes. We interact with a large number of stakeholders, so it’s important you quickly learn how to filter and prioritise opportunities. Outbound lead generation is key, as well as thematic research and relationship building with the most ambitious founders across Europe – often and ideally before they start actively looking for funding.

In our team, you will be identifying potential investment opportunities across Europe, by

• conducting thesis‑driven research
• contributing to our data‑driven dealflow by monitoring signals
• performing market and competitive landscape analysis
• supporting investment processes

Requirements

• You have a proven passion for software and technology
• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or business‑related field
• You are curious and are someone who naturally spends the spare hours learning and looking at new and innovative products that can impact the way we live and work.
• You are expected to have opinionated views on major trends as well as on individual opportunities
• You are a driven self‑starter
• You are comfortable in dealing with a high‑paced environment while remaining optimistic
• You have strong written and oral communication skills in English
• You are a EU citizen and/or have a work permit for Austria
• Ideal profile has done internship in tech and has <2 years of full time work experience
