Die Universität Wien sucht eine*n Postdoktorand*in am Institut für Staats- und Verwaltungsrecht, Lehrstuhl Public Law in Its European Context, zur Forschung, Lehre und Organisation von wissenschaftlichen Veranstaltungen. Sie bringen einen Doktortitel in Rechtswissenschaft oder ähnliche Qualifikation sowie Expertise im österreichischen Öffentlichen Recht mit und arbeiten gern im internationalen Umfeld.

Qualifications

• PhD in Rechtswissenschaft oder soziologischer Rechtswissenschaft.
• Fachwissen in österreichischem Öffentlichen Recht.
• Interesse an Zusammenarbeit mit Studierenden und internationalen Wissenschaftlern.
• Teamfähigkeit und gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten.

Responsibilities

• Mitwirkung an Forschungsprojekten am Lehrstuhl.
• Eigenständige Forschung durchführen und Veröffentlichung der Ergebnisse sicherstellen.
• Konzeption und Organisation von akademischen Veranstaltungen und Veröffentlichungen.
• Unterstützung Gastwissenschaftler*innen.
• Eigenständige Lehrtätigkeit im Rahmen der kollektiven Vereinbarungen.
• Unterstützung bei Lehre und Prüfungen der Abteilung.

Your Personal Scope

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law, Faculty of Law, in the Chair of Public Law in Its European Context (Professor Dr Anuscheh Farahat). We conduct research and teach in the fields of constitutional and administrative law in Europe, with a particular focus on migration law and human rights law. The position is intended to cover a period of parental leave. The contract will initially run until 28 May 2027, with the possibility of an extension thereafter.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic academic to join our team. As an early career researcher, you will play a full part in conceptualising and developing the academic profile of the new centre. This Is What You Do

You will conduct research, teach and handle administrative tasks. This includes:

• Participation in research projects at the chair
• Conducting independent research and ensuring subsequent publication of research results
• Conceptualising and organising of academic events and publications
• Supporting visiting scholars
• Independently teaching classes to the extent of the collective agreement provisions
• Support in the department's teaching and assessment activities

This Is Part Of Your Personality

• PhD in Law or socio-legal studies
• Expertise in Austrian public law
• Interest in working with students and international scholars
• Abilty to work in a team and good communication skills
• Interest in academic research, especially in constitutional law, fundamental und human rights law
• Interest in interdisciplinary research
• Interest in independent academic qualification
• English proficiency at least at level C1
• German proficiency at least at level C1
