A leading construction firm is seeking a Night Shift On Site Traffic Management Designer / Supervisor to lead operations on the Gold Coast Light Rail Project. We are currently seeking a Night Shift On Site Traffic Management Designer / Supervisor to lead critical night operations on the Gold Coast Light Rail Project. This role combines hands-on traffic management leadership with real-time traffic guidance scheme (TGS) design, ensuring full compliance with Austroads, QMUTCD, and project-specific standards.
Lead nightly pre-start meetings with traffic crews, ensuring readiness and full compliance.
Attend and contribute to nightly project briefings with senior stakeholders and contractors.
Perform thorough site inspections to verify traffic control setups meet all safety and regulatory standards.
Actively design and review TGSs to support nightly traffic operations and ensure accuracy of on-site implementation.
Handle last-minute crew adjustments and ensure operational coverage through smart workforce allocations.
Supervise traffic control teams, ensuring proper PPE, fitness for duty, and briefings are consistently maintained.
Submit and review all compliance documentation via Assignar, including PPE, signage, vehicle checks, and permits.
Conduct detailed incident reporting and closeouts, including SWMS/TRA checks and corrective action logs.
Drive performance through ongoing mentorship, audits, and compliance reviews, including Ute Driver documentation checks.
Collaborate with Traffic Management Designers (TMDs) to ensure correct TGSs and permits are in place nightly.
Deliver detailed nightly handovers and reports to management to support continuity and planning.
Proven experience in traffic management supervision on civil or infrastructure projects.
Accredited Traffic Management Designer with hands-on experience creating and reviewing TGSs.
Deep understanding of Austroads, QMUTCD, and traffic compliance frameworks.
Confident using Assignar or similar workforce and compliance systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills to support on-site teams.
Excellent problem-solving and incident management skills.
Full-time night shift availability is essential. Project Based with further onging work beyond the project available.
Competitive salary from $180,000 to $210,000 + Super, depending on experience.
