Catalyst Metals owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Company produces 110koz of gold annually from two operations – the Plutonic Gold Mine in WA & the Henty Gold Mine in Australia. It also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project in Bendigo.
The Company plans to bring four new mining areas at Plutonic into production over the next 12 to 18 months, growing Group production to 200koz of gold.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Catalyst Metals is seeking a Tenement Manager to ensure best practice processes in land access, management, and retention. Working at our head office in Perth, the Tenement Manager will play a key role in helping to set the Company’s tenement strategy and the processes required to manage it, including applications, compliance, renewals, and cancellation.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the Company’s access to tenure, which includes:

  • Applications for grant, renewal, and transfer of mineral tenements.
  • Preparation and lodgement of exploration reports, technical reports, expenditure reports, and activity reports.
  • Strategic and operational advice on mineral tenements.
  • Point of contact with government and other stakeholders throughout the tenement life cycle, inclusive of preparation of submissions for government.
  • Compliance management and management of ancillary approvals and permits.
  • Ground monitoring to gain access to newly vacant land.
  • Submission of geologically sound exploration or work programs.
  • Tailored advice on joint venture agreements and other commercial arrangements, inclusive of tenement auditing and tenement due diligence (for commercial transactions including joint ventures, acquisitions, and farm-in agreements).
  • Assist in the negotiation for access and compensation with private, government, and Indigenous landholders.

About you

The Tenement Manager will have over 10 years in tenement management related roles and will have:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the relevant Western Australian legislation, regulations, and policies.
  • Competence in tenement management software.
  • A law degree or other relevant legal or resource-related qualification.
  • The ability to utilise GIS software, ideally QGIS.
  • A nimble mindset that can balance multiple tasks.
