Job summary

DL Remote in Klagenfurt is building a Platform Team and seeking a Tech Lead / Senior Platform Architect to design and own the platform layer. You will draft backend services, APIs, and scalable infrastructure, while shaping team processes and technical practices from the ground up.

The role requires senior experience with Java, C#, .NET, or Python, and a strong track record in architecture and ownership of prod-grade systems.

Qualifications

• Multi-year track record as a Senior Backend or Full-Stack engineer in a product-focused environment.
• Deep expertise in using object-oriented languages like Java, C#/.NET, or Python.
• Demonstrated background in system architecture with ownership of built systems.
• Strong design and implementation experience with APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Solid knowledge of containerization, CI/CD, and modern DevOps workflows.
• Passion for joining an early-stage team and shaping workflows and team dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

On behalf of our client—an IoT/ SaaS scaleup company —we are building a new Platform Team in Klagenfurt and recruiting a Tech Lead / Senior Platform Architect (m/f/d).

In this position, you will take on architectural and design responsibility for the platform layer bridging a mature core system and new applications. You will draft and implement backend services, APIs, and scalable infrastructure for a product in daily real-world use, while helping actively shape team structures and technical processes from the ground up.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong track record as a Senior Backend or Fullstack Engineer in long-term product development, proven architecture experience with object-oriented languages (Java, C#, .NET, or Python), and the willingness to take on technical ownership for sustainable solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and develop resilient backend systems and API endpoints for our central platform.
• Define and substantiate technical architecture and design choices for upcoming system modules.
• Regularly improve, scale up, and tune current services alongside the core platform infrastructure.
• Integrate fresh functionalities into our proven legacy system utilizing neat and structured interfaces.
• Assume full technical responsibility for operational performance, reliability, and deployment processes in production.
• Serve as a key technical advisor in our growing Platform Team, guiding technical frameworks and methodologies from the very beginning.

WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Multi-year track record working as a Senior Backend or Full-Stack developer in a dedicated product-focused environment rather than project-based agencies.
• Deep expertise in using object-oriented languages like Java, C#/.NET, or Python.
• Demonstrated background in system architecture with a history of owning and maintaining the systems you build.
• Solid practical knowledge of designing APIs, microservices, and managing communications between distributed architectures.
• Good understanding of containerization technologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment, and current DevOps workflows.
• Passion for joining an early-stage team structure and helping to define joint workflows and team dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

REMOTE WORK POLICY

In this role, you can work hybrid remote (2-3 days remote) from the new office in Klagenfurt. During the initial onboarding phase you will travel regularly (a few times/month) to the HQ of the company in Graz.

Should you relocate or travel for this role, your relocation or travel costs will naturally be covered.
