As Team Lead Embedded Linux (m/f/d), you will guide a growing software engineering team while remaining close enough to the technology to make informed decisions, coach experienced developers, and help solve complex engineering challenges.

Your Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of approximately 12 software engineers
- Create an environment built on trust, accountability, open communication, and continuous learning
- Combine people leadership with hands-on technical contribution, with an expected split of approximately 50% leadership and 50% technical work
- Provide technical direction across Embedded Linux, Linux-based product development, and adjacent embedded software topics
- Support engineers with architecture decisions, technical reviews, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving
- Oversee software development activities, priorities, resource allocation, and delivery planning
- Improve development processes, engineering quality, and collaboration across teams
- Guide the practical and responsible adoption of AI-assisted software development tools
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, testing teams, and other engineering functions
- Build team capabilities in line with future product and technology requirements
- Contribute to safety-conscious development practices for reliable embedded systems
Your Profile
- Several years of professional experience in embedded software development or Linux-based product development
- Strong technical understanding of Embedded Linux and related development environments
- Practical experience and knowledge of Yocto is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Linux kernel, driver development, debugging, or system-level troubleshooting is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with C or Embedded C and hardware-near software development
- Experience leading software engineers, ideally with disciplinary responsibility
- Alternatively, substantial experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Engineering Lead with strong lateral leadership skills
- Genuine interest in coaching, performance development, team building, and organizational responsibility
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies and guide specialists across different technical domains
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools, or a strong motivation to establish their effective use within an engineering team
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, presentation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent English skills; German is a significant advantage
- A relevant university degree or comparable technical qualification

Compensation
The salary range for this position is €90,000 to €110,000 gross per year, depending on qualifications, leadership experience, and technical expertise. The final compensation package may include a variable component and will be discussed transparently during the recruitment process.
