Job Introduction: Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. As the market leader for control centre solutions, we develop functions that support the requirements of today's market segments for rescue coordination and traffic management authorities and thus meet the requirements of modern search and rescue services. The Frequentis Maritime team develops solutions for Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS) and Vessel Tracking Systems (VTS). Our Search and Rescue solutions have a very high level of integration with existing customer systems in order to integrate the systems into the existing infrastructure. Our voice communication and information processing solutions are used in all 7 oceans of the world. About 25% of the world's oceans are covered by Frequentis solutions. In addition to the oceans, our solutions are also used in inland waterway transport and ports to make shipping on rivers safe and to ensure safety in harbours. The Frequentis solution provides an intuitive, integrated and highly graphical user interface. This enables operators to make the right decisions quickly and efficiently and save lives.

Key Tasks
  1. You implement our maritime solutions in the control centres of our international customers, starting with the technical specification and ending with final acceptance at the customer's site.
  2. You will advise your customers on technical issues and clarify the feasibility of their requirements together with the internal technical team.
  3. You will be involved in designing the system architecture and optimising the system from a cost-benefit perspective.
  4. If adjustments are required, you will be the interface to our internal experts (e.g. software and product development or the internal support departments).
  5. You will conduct acceptance tests with customers, the project team and other key stakeholders both at our headquarters in Vienna and on site at the customer's location.
  6. You will analyse bugs, create bug descriptions, support the product development team in fixing bugs and provide feedback on new product versions.
  7. You will provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the customer and - if you wish - you can also become part of the 24/7 on-call service after extensive training.
Key Qualifications
  1. You have completed a technical education and already have some experience in systems engineering, network technology or system administration.
  2. You have good network and IT infrastructure knowledge and are familiar with a number of the following technologies and tools: Windows Server, Linux Server (Redhat, Ubuntu), Active Directory, virtualisation (VMWare), Ansible, Cisco network components, Docker, Wireshark, Powershell, bash scripting, GIT, SIP/RTP, HTTP, databases (SQL, postgreSQL).
  3. You have a structured, efficient and precise way of working and are motivated to solve tricky problems.
  4. Solution-oriented thinking and acting as well as working independently are a given for you.
  5. Your willingness to travel internationally with a focus on Europe is 15%, your good command of English will help you to get along well when travelling.
  6. You are willing to learn new technical topics according to the motto "You never stop learning".
