System Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, Karlsruhe, Remote – Full‑time | Salary from €52,000 gross per year, depending on qualification and experience.

As an Automation Engineer you will be responsible for our Ansible‑based Automation platform with a focus on constant improvements and enabling other teams to align their processes to this platform. Your primary tasks include maintaining and enhancing the platform, monitoring the evolution of Ansible, AWX and GitLab, adapting the platform accordingly, and collaborating with teams to develop and design automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid and proven Linux expertise, several years of experience as a system engineer, and a background in implementing processes.
• Experience designing, configuring and automating new Linux systems.
• Familiarity with at least one automation solution (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, etc.).
• Knowledge of Ansible strengths and weaknesses (first experience already gained).
• Strong appreciation for continuous integration as essential for sustainable quality assurance.
• Proficiency in scripting with Bash or Python.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (BGP, VRRP, IPv4).
• Ability to work independently, be a team player, goal‑oriented, and eager to explore new solutions and learn from mistakes.
