Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Gratkorn, Austria, is offering a part-time student software internship in the Toolchain team. You will work with Java, C++, Python and other languages on real-world tools and debugger technologies while studying.

You'll gain hands-on experience with building and testing, documentation, and collaboration with engineers. 20 hours per week for at least six months, with security-related tasks possible. Applicants should be enrolled in a relevant degree and have good English.

Join our Toolchain team at NXP in Gratkorn and work alongside experienced engineers on software tools and debugger technologies. This part‑time position gives you the opportunity to apply what you learn at university, explore different programming languages and technologies, and build valuable industry experience alongside your studies.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, test and debug software tool components using Java, Python, C, C++, Rust and C#
• Support the automation of build and test systems using Jenkins
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Contribute to debugger development by analyzing and reproducing reported issues and verifying fixes
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands‑on experience in professional software development

Your Profile

• Ongoing studies in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering, Software Development, Mathematics, or a related field
• Good programming skills in Java and C++
• Experience with Eclipse, Python, C, C#, LLVM/compilers, Git, SVN and/or Jenkins is a plus
• Good spoken and written English
• An independent, structured and accurate way of working
• Motivation to take initiative, learn and adapt in a dynamic technical environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Valid work authorization required
• Availability of approximately 20 hours per week (duration over 6 months)

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.

The minimum salary for this position is EUR 2.800,- gross/month for full-time equivalent at NXP Austria.
