Job summary

SWARCO ITS Services GmbH in Tirol, Austria, is seeking a Strategic Buyer for Indirect Materials to join our global procurement team. You will lead strategic sourcing, manage supplier relations, and drive cost efficiency for the ITS division.

The role requires several years in strategic purchasing, strong negotiation skills, and experience with SAP. Fluency in German and English is essential; we offer an attractive, performance-based salary and opportunities for international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial studies; technical understanding an advantage.
• Several years in strategic purchasing, preferably indirect procurement.
• Experience with complex or international procurement projects.

• Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness.
• Very good MS Office; SAP experience a plus.
• Fluent German and English in spoken and written form.

Challenge

• Strategic Procurement of Indirect Materials and Services for the SWARCO ITS Division
• Identifying and selecting new suppliers and partners, as well as realizing synergy and optimization potential within the existing supplier portfolio
• Preparing and conducting requests for proposals
• Conducting price and contract negotiations, as well as participating in award decisions and contract execution
• Cross-functional collaboration with international branches to coordinate strategic procurement activities and define and implement medium- and long-term strategy
• Optimization of existing procurement processes, particularly with regard to digitalization and efficiency improvements
• Managing and participation in international purchasing and procurement projects

Profile

• Completed commercial studies, technical understanding of advantage
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally with a focus on indirect procurement
• Experience with complex or international procurement projects
• Analytical mindset and an independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work
• Strong internal customer and service orientation
• Strong negotiation skills, as well as a high degree of independence and assertiveness
• Very good MS Office skills; experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is a plus
• Fluency in spoken and written German and English for collaboration in an international environment
