Job summary

TroGroup GmbH is seeking a Specialist IT Infrastructure - Cloud and Datacenter to ensure stable datacenter and cloud operations globally. The role covers hybrid environments, AD/Entra, backups, and DR readiness, with strong emphasis on ITIL-aligned incident management.

The candidate will work with Architecture teams, security policies with the CISO, and external vendors while contributing to runbooks and documentation. Travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating complex IT environments with virtualization and high availability.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux servers, VMware vSphere, backup solutions, and AD.
• Experience with cloud platforms and monitoring/incident management processes.
• Willingness to travel and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable day-to-day operations of datacenter and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain hybrid infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, and cloud services.
• Manage system performance, availability, and capacity.
• Execute incident, problem, and change management processes in line with ITIL.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain Active Directory and Entra services (identity, authentication, policies).
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions (e.g. Veeam) and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with Architecture teams to implement new solutions and ensure smooth transitions into operations.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies in coordination with the CISO.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and runbooks.
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify risks and improvements.
• Coordinate with external providers and vendors for support and service delivery.
• Support automation and continuous improvement of operational processes.

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring reliable day-to-day operations of datacenter and cloud infrastructure environments
• Operating, monitoring, and maintaining hybrid infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, and cloud services
• Managing and optimizing system performance, availability, and capacity

Your profile

• Good command of the English language (reading, writing, speaking)
• Strong operational mindset with focus on stability, reliability, and service quality
• Hands-on experience in operating complex IT environments (virtualization, high availability, global setups)
• Solid experiens with Window and Linux Server, VMware vSphere or comparable virtualization platforms, Backup solutions, Cloud platforms, Active Directory
• Certifications fitting to the job are welcome
• Basic-to-intermediate knowledge in networking technologies
• Experience with monitoring tools and incident management processes
• Structured, solution-oriented working style with strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong service and customer orientation when working with internal users and external partners
• Team player with good self-organization and ability to work under pressure
• High degree of reliability, responsibility, and ownership
• Willingness to travel

Last but not least, under Austrian law, we are required to state the minimum salary for this position.

This amounts to EUR 47.546,94 gross per year for a full-time role (according to the Metal Industry collective agreement).
