What are we looking for?
The position of Senior Systems Engineer is to provide high-level technical support to both internal and external clients of Arxis. The Employee must ensure that all work is carried out in line with the defined Service Level Agreement standards and to the Standard Operating Processes of Arxis.
Delivery of projects should also be completed within agreed project timelines and to the agreed project requirements. The Employee will be required to work under the instruction of the Chief Technology Officer, CEO or the delegated officer to provide clear communication about the timely delivery of client projects. The Employee will also be required to provide mentoring to other more junior technical staff and peer support to other senior technical staff to ensure a high standard of technical support is provided to clients of Arxis.
The Employee reports to the Chief Technology Officer. The Position is a hands-on role requiring technical skills as well as self-management and team player qualities to ensure the smooth running of the technical support team.
Key Accountabilities and Tasks:
Provide second-level and third-level technical support to all clients of Arxis;
Undertake technical projects for clients of Arxis;
Provide assistance in consultation with the engineering team;
Provide technical support to internal staff of the Arxis;
Provide professional, regular and informative communication to clients throughout the course of all work carried out;
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM/ Call logging system;
Provide on-call assistance to maintenance clients after work hours for approximately 1 week in every 4 weeks;
Help internally to administrative and sales staff as directed by the CEO (or delegated authority); and
Perform other duties as stipulated by the Chief Technology Officer and/or the CEO that may advise from time to time.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
Design, deployment and maintenance of firewalling solutions such as HPE Aruba, Fortinet or Palo Alto Networks
Experience in design and deployment of hypervisors and local compute infrastructure such as VMware or Red Hat OpenShift
Management and deployment of server and storage infrastructure
Experience in Microsoft 365 and supporting products such as Entra and Intune
Administration and maintenance of Windows Server and Active Directory
Management and deployment of Linux environments, especially Canonical or Red Hat
Managing environments in AWS, Azure and/or other cloud services
Qualifications:
Must have full Australian Citizenship and a valid car license.
Exceptional customer service skills with demonstrated experience in a Service Desk environment.
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (MSP experience preferred).
