All European Careers BENELUX in Vienna is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Developer to design, optimize and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, focusing on T-SQL, query optimization and performance tuning.

You will analyze execution plans, implement indexing strategies, manage ETL processes and support application teams with database troubleshooting and architecture improvements.

This is a contractor role based in Vienna with relocation for non-local candidates; fluent English required.

We are looking for a Senior SQL Server Database Developer for our customer in Vienna, Austria, with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, query optimization and database performance tuning.

You will develop, maintain and optimize SQL Server databases, improve query performance, manage database operations and troubleshoot complex database-related issues.

Vienna, Austria – Contractor – Relocation required for non-local candidates – Fluent English

Tasks and Responsibilities

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree;
• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, development and programming using Microsoft SQL Server;
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of information systems;
• Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, stored procedures, functions, views and database performance tuning;
• Experience with SQL Server execution plans, indexing strategies, SQL Server Profiler and Extended Events;
• Knowledge of database troubleshooting, including deadlocks, blocking, concurrency and application performance issues;
• Experience with ETL processes, database backups, maintenance automation and scheduled jobs;
• Understanding of database security, permissions, user roles, consistency and integrity;
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and associated development practices;
• Experience with Microsoft TFS or Azure DevOps would be an advantage.
