Job summary

Quantum Technology Laboratories GmbH (qtlabs) seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex space/tech projects from contract to delivery. You will coordinate with ESA, EU, and FFG and manage scope, budget, schedule, and risks while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

You will serve as the main interface to customers, build lasting relationships, and drive process improvements and proposal activity in a fast-growing deep-tech setting.

• Formal technical or scientific education is required.
• Several years of project management experience in high-tech environments, space preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

At Quantum Technology Laboratories GmbH (qtlabs), we develop quantum key distribution systems and optoelectronic solutions for space and terrestrial applications. Based in Vienna, our engineers and scientists work on technologies for secure global communication.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex technology projects from contract award to delivery, taking responsibility for customer coordination, budget, schedule, scope, risks, and overall project execution. You will also lead multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.

About The Role

• Independent project execution and coordination with our external partners, such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Union (EU), and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)
• Lead complex projects from contract award through to successful delivery
• Take responsibility for project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and performance
• Act as the key interface to customers and build strong, long-term relationships
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate external partners
• Proactively manage changes, risks, deviations, and mitigation actions
• Contribute to proposal and bid activities and support business growth
• Coordination with Portfolio Management
• Support and enable project managers by introducing best practices, fostering knowledge sharing, and driving continuous improvement

Your Profile

• Completed technical or scientific education (e.g. technical college/HTL, university degree, or equivalent qualification)
• Several years of project management experience in a high-technology industrial environment (Space industry preferred)
• Flexible, organised, and independent working style
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong customer focus with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Reliable and responsible personality
• Strong awareness of deadlines and quality, combined with a very good understanding of business and commercial aspects
• Strong team player
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MS Project is an advantage
• Good command of German and English, both written and spoken

The minimum gross salary for this position is €4.359,91 per month on a full-time basis, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The actual compensation will be above this minimum and will reflect the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
