NXP Semiconductors NV in Gratkorn is seeking a Senior NFC/UWB System Validation Engineer to own system-level validation for NFC/UWB solutions. You will drive complex investigations, develop test plans, and collaborate in an international environment to advance validation methods.

The role requires a Master’s in a related field, 5+ years in system validation, strong Python/C skills, experience with test automation, and lab instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in system validation, preferably in semiconductors.
• Proficient in Python and scripting; good knowledge of C programming.
• Experience with test automation and test management.
• Hands-on with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Familiar with interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART and NFC/UWB RF interfaces.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; reliable and structured work approach.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; team player in international settings.

As a Senior NFC/UWB System Validation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of NXP’s NFC and UWB solutions from a customer system perspective. You will take ownership of system-level validation activities, drive complex technical investigations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our validation methods and environments. Working in an international, cross-functional team, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in NFC, UWB and embedded systems, while sharing your experience with other engineers.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop system test plans based on product and system requirements.
• Analyze, optimize, and maintain system test cases.
• Create and verify system test cases.
• Drive and execute system tests, both automated and manual.
• Document test cases, test results, and problem reports.
• Drive issue analysis and debugging within international, cross-disciplinary project teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in our daily ways of working.
• Define improvements for the NFC/UWB system test environment and drive their implementation.
• Support and guide junior team members, sharing technical expertise and best practices.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system validation, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Good skills in Python and/or other scripting languages.
• Good knowledge of C programming and microcontroller-based systems.
• Experience with test automation and test management.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
• Experience with standard interfaces such as SPI, I²C, and UART, as well as RF interfaces in NFC and/or UWB.
• Experience with version control tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Accurate and well-structured way of working.
• Reliable, self-driven, and autonomous working style.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Team player who enjoys working in a diverse and international environment.
