Gasworks Medical Practice is looking for a Full-time 2IC / Team Leader / Senior Medical Receptionist to play a key role in our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both the pace of front-desk healthcare work and the challenge of leading and supporting a team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting and guiding the reception team to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service.
  • Rostering and assisting with workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making to manage operational issues as they arise.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and privacy standards.
  • Providing exceptional front desk support including patient triage, appointment bookings, and billing.
  • Liaising with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and external providers.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical receptionist or similar role
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Confidence with decision-making and prioritisation
  • Leadership experience or a strong desire to learn and grow into a leadership role
  • A commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct
  • Previous team leadership or 2IC experience in a medical practice setting
  • Knowledge of Best Practice software
  • Well-developed understanding of Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, and private billing
  • CPR certificate
  • Experience triaging patients
  • Familiarity working with diverse communities such as adolescents, aged care, LGBTQ+, migrants/refugees, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander patients
  • Basic proficiency with MS Word and Excel
