Many Rivers is seeking an experienced, values-driven senior leader to lead one of Australia’s largest Microenterprise Development businesses. This national role is ideal for someone passionate about improving economic participation, strengthening communities and supporting people experiencing structural disadvantage to start, sustain and grow successful small businesses. This role is responsible for national operational performance, team capability, service quality, stakeholder relationships and continuous business improvement, while delivering meaningful economic and social impact across Australia.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO and working with the Executive Team, the Senior Manager will lead a nationally dispersed team and be accountable for operational performance, workforce capability, client outcomes and strategic growth across the Microenterprise Development business. The role requires a leader who can motivate teams, build a strong performance culture, execute strategy and deliver results across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the national Microenterprise Development business, aligning strategy, operations and service delivery with organisational priorities and growth objectives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, geographically dispersed team, fostering accountability, coaching, engagement and strong performance outcomes.
  • Drive performance against operational targets, funding obligations and measurable client, funder and community outcomes through effective KPI management, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Improve systems, processes and ways of working to increase productivity, scalability, service quality and client impact.
  • Use data, insights and business intelligence to inform decision‑making, monitor performance and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with funders, government, community organisations and sector partners, representing Many Rivers externally.
About You

You are an accomplished senior leader with experience with experience leading managers and large teams in multi‑site, regional or national environments. You have a track record of achieving performance outcomes, leading change, developing leaders and building highly engaged teams. You are equally comfortable discussing operational execution, analysing performance data, coaching managers and representing an organisation with senior stakeholders.

  • Significant senior leadership experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams in financial services, banking, retail, customer service, operations, social enterprise, not‑for‑profit or other performance‑driven environments.
  • Proven ability to execute strategy and deliver outcomes in complex environments.
  • Experience building high‑performing teams, developing leaders and fostering accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success leading managers and delivering performance outcomes through coaching, accountability, workforce engagement and disciplined execution.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and reporting capability, including using data to drive performance.
  • Experience leading change, transformation or business improvement.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with executive and governance audiences.
  • Confidence using contemporary business systems, data analytics and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365, Power BI, CRM and reporting systems.

Experience in regional, rural or remote Australia, Indigenous entrepreneurship and government‑funded or outcomes‑based programs will be highly regarded.
