Lonza in Visp, Switzerland seeks a Group Leader for Drug Linker Development to guide a team of PD/MSAT/Chemists and shape the strategy for continuous improvement and capacity in Drug Linker and Toxin operations.

This fully site-based role emphasizes hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration with production and portfolio teams, and delivering robust, compliant processes for GMP manufacturing.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field; Organic Chemistry PhD preferred.
• Approximately 5–10 years in pharmaceutical process development, API, or manufacturing sciences.
• Proven experience leading complex projects in a matrix organization.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process development, scale‑up, technology transfer and GMP requirements.
• Knowledge of Drug Linker technology and safe containment execution.
• People management experience or clear potential to grow into leadership.
• Experience managing project budgets and delivering against targets.
• Fluent English; German proficiency is a strong asset.

Aufgaben

• Define and implement critical business processes for Drug Linker projects in ramp‑up phase.
• Lead the Drug Linker Process Development team and monitor performance.
• Allocate chemists and lab resources in alignment with DL Development leadership.
• Guide transfer of Drug Linker processes to GMP facilities.
• Drive innovative tech to increase capability, capacity and efficiency.
• Act as scientific expert for Drug Linker Toxin projects externally and internally.
• Collaborate with Bioconjugates and Small Molecules Operations.
• Lead HR aspects and contribute to scientific development of team.
