Job summary

Vienna Insurance Group is seeking a senior IT contracts attorney to manage provider relationships and draft/ negotiate complex IT agreements. You will advise on IT procurement, ensure compliance with data protection and AI-related requirements, and oversee SLA/KPI regimes across multiple projects and vendors.

The role demands deep knowledge of IT contract law, strong negotiation skills, and fluency in German and English, with experience in a regulated finance/insurance setting.

Qualifications

• A law or business law degree; bar exam or in-house/law firm experience is an advantage.
• Several years of IT law, IT contract law, IT sourcing and outsourcing management.
• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating IT contracts with major providers.
• Strong understanding of SLA/KPI management, pricing and audit rights.
• Knowledge of DORA, NIS2, AI Act, GDPR and IP/copyright law.
• Very good German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Commercial and legal management of provider relationships and contracts.
• Advising business units and senior management on IT contracts and procurement.
• Monitoring billing, SLAs/KPIs, change requests and performance.
• Drafting and negotiating scope, acceptance, warranties, and IP rights.
• Handling IT law issues, data protection, AI, and IP in software development.
• Implementing DORA, NIS2, AI Act, GDPR compliance in IT contracts.
• Supporting IT tenders and provider evaluations.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure legal soundness of projects.
• Developing and adapting model contracts and GTCs for IT services.
