Job summary

MXP (MarineXchange) seeks a senior full‑stack software engineer to shape products from ideation to production SaaS, and to modernize legacy desktop apps into web-based services. You will design scalable architectures and lead migrations to a new tech stack, while driving AI‑assisted development and owning project delivery in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

About MXP

MXP (MarineXchange) builds the software that runs cruise operations. Around 100 people develop and support a modular platform used by leading cruise lines — from property management and point of sale to itinerary planning, supply chain and port operations. Our customers run 24/7 operations at sea, which makes reliable delivery not a nice-to-have but the product itself.

Your role

• Shape new products from first idea to working prototype and turn the best ones into production-ready SaaS
• Rebuild our customer-loved desktop applications as modern web applications and evolve them into a SaaS product
• Design scalable, maintainable architectures for existing and new products
• Analyse legacy applications and plan their migration to our modern tech stack
• Drive AI-assisted development in the team and help build our agentic SDLC platform
• Act as backup for our existing C#/Blazor web applications when needed
• Take technical ownership of projects: plan work, break down and distribute tasks, keep delivery on track
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and share knowledge to strengthen our engineering culture

What you bring

• 7+ years of professional software development with a strong full stack focus
• Expertise in TypeScript and a modern SPA framework (Angular or React)
• Solid experience with Node.js backend frameworks (NestJS, Express or similar)
• Strong applied software architecture skills and deep understanding of core web technologies
• Good knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding tools in daily development
• Willingness to work on existing C#/Blazor applications alongside new development
• Strong English skills (our company language)

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic software development lifecycles
• Rapid prototyping experience (e.g. AI-assisted, from low-fidelity to MVP)
• CI/CD and DevOps experience
• C# / .NET experience, ideally Blazor
• Experience with legacy software rewrites
• German skills

Austria: We offer an annual gross salary starting from EUR 77,000 for full‑time employment, depending on your qualifications and experience. The minimum salary stipulated by the applicable IT collective agreement (ST2) is EUR 4,611 gross per month (14 payments per year).
