Job summary

Anton Paar is seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer (f/m/x) to lead a firmware team from day one within the Firmware Platform group. You will stay hands-on in firmware development while organizing the team and delivering value in an agile Scrum environment.

Responsibilities include mentoring a small firmware team, owning the backlog by structuring requirements and prioritizing work, developing reusable C/C++ components, guiding architecture, and translating requirements into concrete

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Several years of experience developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers with emphasis on abstraction, clean interfaces and testable software architectures
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, RTOS concepts, and Python
• Proven ability to work independently, take ownership and drive tasks to completion
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication and responsibility for shared goals

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor a small firmware development team while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Own and manage the firmware product backlog by structuring requirements, prioritizing work packages, and enabling efficient team execution
• Develop reusable firmware platform components in C/C++ with well-defined software architectures and interfaces
• Drive architectural decisions within the team's area of responsibility
• Analyze and evaluate requirements, translating them into technical specifications and realistic development plans
• Actively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative firmware solutions
