This is a high-impact, standalone role based in Brisbane, ideal for a finance professional who excels in building robust Excel models, collaborating with technical teams, and influencing board-level decisions.

The company is making bold strategic moves, and this role is positioned at the crossroads of finance, engineering, and asset management. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape how the business evaluates and delivers on capital expenditure, business cases, and project outcomes.

About the Role

This is not a typical reporting position. It is a hands-on, end-to-end role requiring a combination of strategic insight and advanced financial modelling expertise. Reporting to a high-calibre finance leader, you will be responsible for everything from modelling CAPEX proposals to conducting post-implementation reviews on multi-million-dollar asset projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and building advanced Excel-based financial models to support business cases, tenders, and strategic decisions
• Partnering with Asset Management and Engineering teams to analyse CAPEX proposals and assess investment viability
• Conducting thorough post-implementation reviews to evaluate project value delivery
• Presenting key findings and financial recommendations to senior stakeholders and board members
• Driving budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning initiatives
• Taking full ownership of your portfolio in a comprehensive, end-to-end capacity

Who We’re Looking For

• A degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
• CA/CPA qualifications are beneficial but not essential
• At least 8 years of experience in financial planning, business case development, and capital investment analysis
• A background in mining, asset-intensive industries, or engineering-led environments is preferred
• Strong Excel modelling skills, with a passion for creating and managing financial models
• A commercially astute individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a sharp attention to detail when preparing board-level reports
• A strategic thinker who also enjoys getting hands-on with complex modelling and high-level financial discussions
