Overview

SGME is seeking a motivated and experienced environmental professional to join our growing consultancy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a variety of high-impact projects across the mining, infrastructure, and land development sectors. Working alongside a team of scientists, engineers, and environmental specialists, you’ll be involved in environmental assessments, field investigations, technical reporting, and the preparation of management plans. You’ll also gain hands-on experience in key focus areas such as soil science, geochemistry, mine closure, and environmental rehabilitation. Responsibilities
  • Participate in environmental assessments, field investigations, technical reporting, and the preparation of management plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and environmental specialists on a variety of projects.
  • Develop expertise in soil science, geochemistry, mine closure, and environmental rehabilitation.
About You
  • You’re a proactive and values-driven environmental professional with 3–5 years of post-graduate experience and a strong passion for sustainability and environmental outcomes.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field, and bring demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental assessments, soil science, geochemistry, mine rehabilitation, or land management.
  • You have excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to undertake fieldwork are essential.
  • To be considered, you must be eligible to work in Australia.
