Responsibilities
  • Working side by side with people to create recovery plans that reflect their goals and aspirations
  • Advocating for consumers to make sure their voices are heard and their choices are respected
  • Managing a caseload, checking in on progress, and celebrating the big and small wins
  • Helping people connect with activities, services, and opportunities that spark interest and build confidence
  • Walking alongside clients as they transition into long term housing, helping them strengthen independence and life skills
  • Using trauma-informed practices so that every interaction feels safe, supportive and empowering
Requirements
  • Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:
  • Minimum Cert IV or above in Community Services, Social Sciences or Social Work or related
  • As this is a Senior role, considerable experience working in a similar position supporting vulnerable people experiencing mental health, AOD, or other personal or social challenges
  • Sound understanding of wellness, recovery, and trauma informed principles
  • Initiative in spades with the ability to think about outside the box
  • Exceptional relationship building, communication, and interpersonal skills

For 60 years, St Bart’s has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
