Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Austria is seeking an Embedded Senior Crypto Software Developer to design and implement state-of-the-art cryptographic libraries for ARM Cortex‑M and RISC‑V, balancing performance, memory, and security.

You will work with security architects, OS and firmware teams, and participate in product certifications, influencing a broad range of domains from payment to IoT.

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or PhD in mathematics, cryptography, computer science, electronic/ electrical engineering, information technology.
• 5+ years in cryptography and embedded security.
• Strong C and Assembly skills for embedded systems.
• Experience with cryptographic primitives (ECC, RSA, AES, SHA-2/SHA-3).
• Knowledge of countermeasures against side-channel and fault injection.
• Post-Quantum Cryptography experience is a plus; Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Specification and cross-platform implementation of state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms (incl. Post-Quantum Cryptography).
• Design and specification of software countermeasures against physical attacks such as SCA and FI.
• Collaboration with security architects and internal evaluation teams to enhance software countermeasures.
• Taking ownership of technical topics within cryptographic domains through design, implementation, code reviews, and planning.
• Collaboration with OS and firmware teams to ensure secure integration of cryptographic software.
• Working with test and platform support engineers to ensure maximum product quality and support certifications.
