Placements24 is seeking a Biotechnology Research Scientist to drive discovery and development of novel biotech solutions in a cutting-edge lab in Queenstown. You will lead experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on genetic engineering, molecular biology, and bioprocessing projects.

The role demands a PhD in a life sciences field, 4+ years of experience, hands-on lab skills, and a passion for innovation that advances healthcare and industry.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biotechnology or related life science field is required.
• Minimum of 4 years postdoctoral or relevant industry research experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blotting, cloning, gene editing).
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis software (R, GraphPad Prism).
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of scientific publications.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex experiments in molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, or related biotech fields.
• Develop and optimize new experimental protocols and techniques.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistics and software.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks and records.
• Contribute to writing research reports, publications, and patent applications.
