Lonza in Stein, Switzerland is seeking a part-time Laboratory Materials & Microbiology Support specialist to manage laboratory materials and perform routine microbiological testing in a GMP-regulated environment.

You will coordinate inventory, stock monitoring, bioburden and endotoxin testing, and document analyses while supporting continuous improvement; English fluency required, German a plus, and occasional on-call duties.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience in microbiological testing, including bioburden and endotoxin testing.
• Knowledge of GMP requirements and performing routine lab analyses with high accuracy.
• Degree or training in biology or related life sciences field.
• Experience with lab material management, including ordering and inventory control.
• Fluent English; German is a plus; willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

What you will do:

• Manage laboratory materials and consumables, including ordering, stock monitoring, inventory control, and ensuring the continuous availability of critical supplies.
• Perform routine microbiological testing in a GMP-regulated environment, including activities such as bioburden, environmental monitoring, sterility, and bacterial endotoxin testing, with the opportunity to develop expertise in specific testing areas.
• Coordinate and document microbiological analyses, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of routine laboratory activities.
• Support the continuous improvement and implementation of microbiological methods, technologies, and laboratory processes while contributing to operational excellence.
• Ensure laboratory readiness through equipment maintenance, compliance with cGMP and safety requirements, and participation in on-call duties to support business needs.

What we are looking for:

• Hands-on experience in microbiological testing, particularly bioburden testing, ideally gained in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements and enthusiasm for performing routine laboratory analyses with a high level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Completed training as a Biology Laboratory Technician (BiologielaborantIn) or a BSc in Biology or related life sciences field; experience with endotoxin testing, Growth Direct, or PyroTec PRO is an advantage.
• Experience or interest in laboratory material management, including ordering, inventory control, and ensuring material availability to support smooth laboratory operations.
• Fluent English skills, with German considered a plus; a flexible and collaborative mindset, including willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, and occasionally adjust working hours to meet operational needs.
