Jobbeschreibung

Fiber Elements GmbH was founded in 2023 at the start-up center of Montanuniversität Leoben and focuses on the development and production of non-metallic reinforcement systems for the construction industry. The company primarily processes the mineral material basalt, transforming it into complex three-dimensional reinforcement systems using rovings (fiber bundles) on automated production lines. These systems are widely used in precast concrete elements. In addition to textile reinforcement systems, a key area of focus is the development and digital control of fully automated production lines, which can also be operated at customer sites. Fiber Elements is a dynamic and fast-growing start-up backed by reputable investors, renowned research partners, and promising customers. To support its growth, the company is expanding its team of 13 employees and is filling key positions across the organization.

We are seeking a Robotics & Automation Engineer to drive the programming, control, and continuous improvement of our robotic production processes.
This is an on-site position in Leoben, Austria - at the heart of Austria's materials innovation ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and program automated production processes with a focus on industrial robotics systems such as ABB or KUKA
  • Optimize existing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance routines
  • Conduct testing and benchmarking, drive continuous process improvements to maximize performance
  • Train and support production teams in operating and maintaining new robotic systems and control protocols
Required skills and qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in programming and controlling industrial robots
  • Solid knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation
  • Experience with robotic simulation software
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • University degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field
  • Fluent in English, German at least B1 level
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the specific robot brands used in our facilities
  • Experience in composites (e.g., fiber reinforcement, non-metallic materials) or construction materials automation is a plus
