Jobgether is seeking a mid-level Backend Developer (Java/Spring Boot) for a fully remote engagement with a partner company based in Switzerland. You’ll build reliable backend systems, APIs, services, and integrations, owning features from implementation through testing and release.

You’ll work with frontend, QA, DevOps, product, design, and client-side stakeholders in a cross-functional environment. The project currently runs through February 2027, offering autonomy, modern engineering

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of modern Java development; Java 21 preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Practical experience with Hibernate/JPA and ORM-based persistence.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, and query performance.
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with automated backend testing and testing as a core part of development.
• Familiarity with Git, PRs, code reviews, and collaborative workflows.
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS or cloud environments (ECS/Fargate advantageous).
• Experience in Fintech, SaaS, HR, Payroll, ERP, AI-enabled products, or complex enterprise platforms is beneficial.
• Strong ownership and autonomy, with ability to manage features independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into backend solutions.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a bonus.
• Fluent professional English required.
• Spanish language skills are a significant advantage for LATAM collaboration.

Aufgaben

• Develop clean, maintainable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, build, and maintain secure REST APIs and backend services for frontend applications and other systems.
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, indexes, migrations, and persistence layers using Hibernate/JPA.
• Translate product and business requirements into robust backend functionality and logic.
• Develop and maintain microservices within distributed backend architectures.
• Implement third-party integrations and internal services as required.
• Ensure data accuracy, validation, and edge-case handling.
• Write and maintain automated tests with QA collaboration.
• Own backend features from implementation to release and delivery.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, product, design, and other backend developers.
