Hitachi Rail Austria GmbH in Vienna, Austria seeks a Project Planner to monitor project progress, manage schedules and ensure alignment with milestones. The role supports risk and opportunity management across diverse teams in a multicultural setting.

The ideal candidate has education in business or technical fields, hands-on project planning experience with Primavera P6/MS Project, and certification like IPMA or PMP.

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate or university degree (business administration or technical fields).
• Experience in Project Management (Resource Planning, Budgeting, timeplanning, Risk Management).
• Experience with MS Office, Power Query and Business Intelligence Software.
• IPMA or PMP certification.
• Know-how in development and implementation of applications based on Microsoft Excel (incl. VBA programming).
• Experience with Project Planning Tools (Primavera P6 preferred, MS Project, cplace, JIRA…).
• Knowledge about project Management standards and methods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the project master schedule in line with the contractual WBS.
• Monitor the Project Second Level Schedule (based on contributions from each Project Team member).
• Mitigate risks of delays impacting contractual obligations; escalate significant deviations.
• Support the identification, reporting and mitigation/achievement of schedule risks and opportunities.
• Ensure regular updating of monitoring, reporting, and analysis of project progress with all functions aligned.
• Develop the WBS under PM accountability and in line with internal standards and guidelines.

Job Description

PROJECT PLANER (F/M/D) With its multicultural team of diverse backgrounds, Hitachi Rail in Austria supports domestic and international rail operators with technologies and expertise in the field of signaling technology. The Hitachi team in Austria thus ensures the safe and efficient transportation of people and goods. The Project Planner (PJP) ensures continuous and active monitoring of the project physical progress and its critical path and monitors the compliance of the project with all contractual & internal milestones.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Preparation and Maintenance of Project Master Schedule in line with the contractual WBS
• Monitoring of the Project Second Level Schedule (based on the contributions from each Project Team member)
• With the support of relevant roles, mitigates any risk of delays impacting contractual obligations, escalating any significant deviations to the Project Manager
• Supports the overall identification, reporting and mitigation/achievement of schedule risks and opportunities
• Ensures regular updating of monitoring, reporting, and analysis of project physical progress with all functions involved aligned to the project plan as a single point of truth
• The Project Planner is responsible for developing the WBS under the ultimate accountability of the PM and in line with internal standards and guidelines

YOUR PROFILE

• Higher School Certificate, or university degree (business administration, or technical fields)
• Experiences in Project Management (Ressource Planning, Budgeting, timeplanning, Risk Management)
• Experience with MS Office, Power Query and Business Intelligence Software
• IPMA or PMP certification
• Know-how in development and implementation of applications based on Microsoft Excel (incl. VBA programming)
• Experience with Project Planning Tools (Primavera P6 preferred, MS Project, cplace, JIRA,…)
• Knowledge about project Management standards and methods

• The salary for this position starts at € 55.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification.
