The candidate will work on a dissertation related to one of the subprojects, such as resource accumulation, nature and environments in Ottoman sources, or mobility in Byzantium. Responsibilities include research, teaching, administrative tasks, and active participation in cluster activities, with expectations to publish and present research internationally.

Ideal candidates should have excellent knowledge of at least one source language and two modern Eurasian languages, be in the initial phase of their PhD, and possess good English skills. German skills are advantageous. The role requires teamwork, interdisciplinary engagement, and a strong academic record.
