The University of Vienna invites applications for a University Assistant postdoctoral position in Atmospheric Transport Modelling. You will join the Atmospheric Transport Processes group led by Prof.

Andreas Stohl to advance research on transport in the atmosphere using FLEXPART and inverse modelling techniques. You will engage in research and teaching, supervise BSc/MSc theses, and publish in peer‑reviewed journals while collaborating with an international team in a vibrant scientific

Qualifications

• Completed Ph.D. / Doctoral degree in the atmospheric sciences (e.g., meteorology, climatology), or a related field.
• Data analysis and interpretation experience that is guided by theoretical / physical understanding and not only by application of statistical methods or artificial intelligence.
• A good team spirit and willingness to collaborate.
• Very good command of the English language.

Responsabilités

• Perform research within the scope of the Atmospheric Transport Processes group; possible topics could be: contamination transport in the atmosphere; microplastics pollution; transport of water or heat in the atmosphere.
• Teach independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, including the co-supervision of BSc and MSc theses;
• Publish your scientific results in peer-reviewed journals;
• Strengthen the collaborative culture of our team and the Department.
