The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a Position as

PostDoc (F/M/X)

(full time/40 hours per week) for a duration of three years

Your Tasks

  • Develop software to do data analysis using data collected by the ALICE experiment
  • Perform in-person data-taking shifts in Geneva, Switzerland, with the ALICE Collaboration
  • Take part in meetings of the ALICE Collaboration remotely and in-person
  • Interact with theoreticians of the field of particle physics to interpret ALICE measurements

Your Profile

  • PhD in particle physics or related field
  • Expertise in Software development, preferably with C++ and/or python
  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulations is desirable
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning Techniques is desirable
