Job summary

Qualifications

• Completed doctoral/PhD studies in ancient history, Greek epigraphy or a related subject of ancient studies
• Outstanding dissertation
• Research competence and initiative demonstrated via international publications
• Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
• Excellent competence in Greek history and epigraphy
• Excellent command of Ancient Greek and Latin
• Very good command of written and spoken English, with reading ability in other languages
• German language skills at C1 or willingness to acquire during employment

Responsibilities

• Independent research in ancient Greek history and epigraphy
• Teaching ancient history and epigraphy
• Administrative duties within the Department
• Contribute to research projects and academic studies
• Publish internationally and give lectures
• Apply for projects and raise third-party funds
• Prepare and complete habilitation for publication
• Teach courses independently and supervise students
• Participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance
