IXOPAY GmbH is seeking a Software Engineer (PHP) to join the Engineering team in Vienna. You will design, develop, and maintain backend features, focusing on performance, scalability, and secure payment workflows for a global platform.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, work with modern APIs, and contribute to an enterprise-grade payment infrastructure. A hybrid work model, modern Vienna office, and ongoing professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in software development using PHP.
• Strong experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or Doctrine.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and translate requirements from customers into product updates.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend features using PHP and modern frameworks.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance services across cloud and datacenter environments.
• Work with APIs and integrations that support complex payment workflows and enterprise customers.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to define and deliver new features.
• Ensure application reliability, security, uptime, and performance across services.
• Contribute to the evolution of system architecture, infrastructure, and development best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
• Stay engaged with payment industry concepts, customer needs, and platform capabilities.
