The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna offers a postdoctoral position in the research area of Mathematical Analysis with a focus on Partial Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems. The position is temporary and limited until 31.12.2027. Job ID: 4202. Working hours: 40 per week. Classification: CBA §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc).

Your professional field of activity:

As a University Assistant (Postdoc), you will join the research team around Univ.-Prof. Adrian Constantin, PhD. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in Mathematical Analysis with a background in Partial Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems, can integrate into the team, contribute independently to current research, and take responsibility for results.

Your future tasks:
  • Active participation in research, teaching & administration.
  • Collaboration and research in the field of partial differential equations: identify and address research questions; contribute to the development of PDEs; become a member of the "Analysis, Geometric Structures and Mathematical Physics" research area.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: participate in international scientific collaborations, conferences and workshops.
  • Teaching and administration: participate in the institute’s administration, teach and research, hold courses and examinations, and supervise students (co-)supervision as applicable.
Required Qualifications/Position Requirements:
  • Doctorate in mathematics or a related field completed or to be completed with certificate before the start of the contract.
  • Emphasis in Mathematical Physics and Partial Differential Equations.
  • Research competence and initiative demonstrated through international publications in peer-relevant media.
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
  • Team player with high social and communicative competence and international experience.
  • Goal-oriented with high motivation for scientific excellence.
  • No entitlement to compensation for travel and accommodation expenses incurred in connection with the admission process.
