Zusammenfassung

The Research Lab for Aquatic Ecosystems and Health at Danube University Krems is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to investigate trophic interactions of freshwater pond food webs in northern Austria, under the FRESH project funded by the Lower Austrian Science Fund.

The project combines fieldwork and controlled feeding experiments, using advanced methods such as stable isotopes and lipid analyses (GC-C/P-IRMS, MALDI, EA-IRMS) to trace diet pathways.

Qualifikationen

• Highly motivated PhD student with training in aquatic food web ecology.
• Experience with field sampling and data interpretation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Investigate trophic interactions of pond food webs in northern Austria.
• Track diet pathways using stable isotopes and lipids under field and controlled conditions.
