OSHC Service Manager providing management to a school P&C OSHC

Indooroopilly State School P&C Association (P&C) is a community minded organisation working to achieve the best possible outcomes for students of Indooroopilly State School.

We are looking at employing a highly engaged and organised leader to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the P&C's 'OSHC' service. You will be a part of a supportive team, and will be providing exceptional leadership and operational management. You will benefit from a rewarding interaction with staff, volunteers and parents, whilst also collaborating with the wider school community. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong business acumen wanting to assist a school community.

Your duties as OSHC Service Manager will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Keeping abreast of all changes in legislation which may affect the operations of the OSHC service;
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for the OSHC service;
  • Attending all P&C meetings as required by its Executive Committee, and meeting with and providing the Executive Committee with regular reports on the operation the OSHC service;
  • Building strong morale and a flourishing team environment consistent with the P&C's values;
  • Developing, implementing and supervising human resources for the OSHC Service including; managing staff induction, rostering, labour costs, conflict, communication, and employment relations;
  • Developing, implementing and supervising developmentally appropriate programs for children;
  • Maintaining day-to-day accounts and handling all administrative matters;
  • Ensuring that the OSHC service meets or exceeds quality assurance requirements;
  • Liaising with management committees as appropriate;
  • Participating in the preparation of and complying with an annual budget;
  • Liaising with families and outside agencies;
  • Being appointed as the Nominated Supervisor for the OSHC service; and
  • Providing overall strategic, financial and operational management of the OSHC service while working collectively and collaboratively with the P&C's Operations Manager and the P&C's Executive Committee.

The position will be subject to an eighteen month maximum term contract, with the strong likelihood of an extension being provided, subject to the successful candidate's performance and other criteria.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • An understanding of the Parents' and Citizens' Associations Award – State 2016 and legislation relating to the OSHC service (such as the Education and Care Services National Law);
  • A relevant degree or a 3 or 4 year early childhood education qualification, or a diploma in children's services/out of school hours care (or an ADF Advanced diploma);
  • A current Blue Card and an ability to work with and around children;
  • Supervisory and problem-solving skills;
  • An understanding of the P&C Accounting Manual;
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting;
  • Leadership ability; and
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position.
